Intro to Tumbling

Tumble 1 is the perfect class for athletes who are just beginning their tumbling journey! Students will build a strong foundation by learning proper body shapes, basic strength, flexibility, and beginner tumbling skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

Intro to tumbling fundamentals

Proper body shapes and technique

Holding a handstand against the wall

Forward rolls and log rolls

Push-up to bridge (back bend)

Strength, coordination, balance, and body control

This class is designed to help athletes gain confidence while developing the essential skills needed to progress to more advanced tumbling.

Tumble 2 

Monday 5:00-6:00

Tuesday 5:30-6:30

Tumble 2 is designed for athletes who have mastered the basics and are ready to build on their tumbling foundation. This class focuses on improving strength, control, and technique while introducing more advanced skills in a supportive and motivating environment.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

Learning the cartwheel

Forward rolls with improved technique

Push up to backbend with leg lifts

Handstands and balance control

Holding all body shapes with strength and precision

This class helps athletes refine their skills, increase confidence, and prepare for more advanced tumbling progressions.

 

Tumble 3 

Tuesday 5:00-6:00

Thursday 5:30-6:30

Tumble 3 is designed for athletes who are ready to take their tumbling to the next level by refining technique and learning to connect skills with control and confidence. This class focuses on building strength, coordination, and fluid movement while introducing more advanced progressions.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

  • Connecting cartwheels with smooth transitions
  • Cartwheel to front leg lift 
  • Handstands with proper head alignment and control
  • Backward rolls with improved technique
  • Standing backbends 

This class helps athletes develop stronger connections between skills, improve body awareness, and build the confidence needed for more advanced tumbling.

Thursday 5:30-6:30

Tumble 4 is designed for athletes who are ready to build strength, flexibility, and control while working toward more advanced tumbling skills. This class focuses on developing proper technique, body awareness, and confidence as athletes begin to link skills with greater precision and power.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

  • Backbend kickovers with proper form and control
  • Learning the round off with strong technique and momentum
  • Handstand to backbend stand up with strength and flexibility

This class helps athletes improve their overall strength, coordination, and confidence while preparing them for more advanced tumbling progressions.

Tumble 5

Tuesday 4:00-5:00 

Thursday 6:30-7:30

Tumble 5 is designed for athletes who are ready to take the next step toward back handsprings by building strength, technique, and confidence in backward movement. This class focuses on developing proper body positioning, control, and power while introducing key skills that lead into back handsprings.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

  • Back walkovers with proper technique and control
  • Front walkovers to build flexibility and strength
  • Jumping backwards with confidence and correct body alignment
  • Handstand to front support for upper body strength and control
  • Proper feet placement and angles for safe and effective tumbling
  • Roundoff rebounding backwards onto a mat to develop power and connection

This class helps athletes improve coordination, strength, and confidence while preparing them for successful back handspring progressions.

Tumble 6

Tuesday 6:30-7:30

Thursday 5:00-6:00

Tumble 6 is designed for athletes who are ready to begin working toward independent back handsprings. This class focuses on refining technique, building power, and increasing confidence while introducing connections into back handsprings with proper spotting.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

  • Safely performing spotted back handsprings with correct technique and body alignment
  • Connecting a roundoff into a back handspring with assistance
  • Maintaining strong body shapes and tight positions throughout every skill
  • Developing power and rebound out of roundoffs
  • Improving timing and coordination for tumbling connections
  • Performing all drills and shaping exercises correctly both with and without the boulder
  • Building strong front handspring technique, including proper hurdle, blocking, and landing mechanics
  • Progressing front handsprings on the floor and using drills to develop power for future front tumbling combinations

Once athletes achieve a consistent and technically sound back handspring, they will begin working on connecting multiple back handsprings together. As front handsprings become more consistent, athletes will also begin preparing for more advanced front tumbling skills.

This class helps athletes build the strength, confidence, and technical foundation needed to progress toward independent back handsprings, front handsprings, and more advanced tumbling skills.



Tumble 7

Tuesday 7:30-8:30

Tumble 7 is designed for athletes who can confidently connect multiple back handsprings both standing and running. This class focuses on refining technique, increasing power, and ensuring proper head placement and body control throughout advanced tumbling passes.

Skills we’ll focus on include:

Connecting multiple back handsprings with strong technique and consistency

Maintaining proper head position and tight body alignment throughout skills

Building power and rebound through continuous tumbling passes

Improving timing, rhythm, and control in advanced connections

Developing endurance for longer and more complex passes

Learning and refining punch fronts with proper technique and control

Athletes in this class will begin working on advanced skills including tucks and above. Progressions will include layouts, fulls, standing tucks, and punch fronts, with an emphasis on safe technique and strong execution.

 

This class helps athletes refine their advanced tumbling skills while building the strength, confidence, and control needed for higher-level performance.
